This year the National Eucharistic Revival and Pilgrimage will gather over 100,000 Catholics from across the nation in a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring our nation together to express our faith in the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The procession will begin in 4 cities in May and will converge in Indianapolis on July 2024
We want as many people involved and in particular catholic students across the nation. They do not need to travel anywhere and can do this in their own schools.
To address this need, a group of committed Catholics created The Behold His Sacred Heart Program. The program seeks to create a simple and tangible way for students of all ages to be involved in this Eucharistic movement of God in our nation
Students will be active participants throughpraying in a systematic way their Behold the Sacred Heart Chaplet duringthe preparatory time and during the procession. By working withstudents, the goal of this program is to form a new generation ofchildren who believe, adore, trust, andlove Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist
The schools which participate in this program will be called Behold the Sacred Heart Intercessory schools.
Teachers will guide students to:
1. Pray the attached Eucharist Chaplet,
2. Behold (contemplate) the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus burning with love for them,
3. Ponder on the message “Behold the Sacred Heart………..…”,
4.Spend time in adoration
5. Receive Communion of Reparation on First Friday School Masses.
BY GROWING IN LOVE FOR HIM THROUGH DAILY COTEMPLATION OF THE IMAGE OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
In his Document Haurietis Aquas, Pope Pius XII, expresses its importance:
Christ our Lord, exposing His Sacred Heart, wished in a quite extraordinary way to invite the minds of men to a contemplation or/and devotion to the mystery of God's merciful love for the human race. In this special manifestation Christ pointed to His Heart, with definite and repeated words, as the symbol by which men should be attracted to a knowledge and recognition of His love and at the same time He established it as a sign or pledge of mercy and grace for the needs of the Church in our times.” (HaurietisAquas, Pius XII, 97)
By working with students, the goal of this program is to form a new generation of children who believe, adore, trust, and love Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.
